Grand Seiko Reveals Two US-Exclusive “Kirazuri” 44GS Watches
Arriving in dark blue and dusty rose dial colors.

Grand Seiko is back with a duo of new 44GS references to its emblematic Heritage Collection. Releasing as North American-region exclusives, the watches spotlight dials in a “Kirazuri” style, which translates to “sparkling painting” — a technique that is found in Edo-era Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock art. Traditionally, “kirazuri” is attained through mixing mica powder into the printing process, resulting in a shimmering effect.
Arriving in cool blue (SBGA507) and dusty rose (SBGA509), both colorways nod to the transitional hues observed from the sky in Lake Suwa. The blue variant derived aesthetic cues from the evening sky, while the dusty rose evoked a warm mood as experienced during sunrise.
Housed in 40mm-wide stainless steel cases, the new limited-edition is powered by Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive Caliber 9R65 with 72 hours of power reserve. The automatic-winding movement is viewable through a see-through caseback, complete with 10 ATM of water resistance.
Limited to 300 examples per colorway, the two watches each retail at $5,600 USD and will be available through Grand Seiko’s US website, boutiques and select retailers.
