Tendo Mokko to Unveil ‘SHAPE OF TENDO' Furniture Exhibition in Tokyo
Featuring collaborative pieces by Hirofumi Kiyonaga, Ichiro Yamaguchi, Kashiyuka and Junko Katoh.

In August, Japanese furniture company Tendo Mokko will unveil a special exhibition, titled SHAPE OF TENDO at the Isetan Shinjuku department store in Tokyo.
This time-limited exhibition will feature a series of new furniture, infused with each of its collaborator’s distinct vision. The list of collaborators includes SOPH.’s former creative director Hirofumi Kiyonaga; Ichiro Yamaguchi, the frontman of new-wave indie rock band Sakanaction; Kashiyuka, one-third of techno-pop girl group, Perfume as well as dentist and model, Junko Katoh.
Drawing inspiration from Kiyonaga’s passion for gold, the Putter Rack makes for a chic and compact stand. Crafted from molded plywood, the rack features Tendo Mokko’s signature curves, paired with green cushioning that ensures the perfect angle for storing putters.
As a furniture enthusiast, Yamaguchi has dreamed up a duo of stools that goes by the name of YI Stool. Offered in white canvas and black leather versions, the stools are made of solid teak wood and evoke a mid-century modern appeal.
Kashiyuka’s Rattan Side Table was designed as the perfect piece for her cat to lie on. From the cylindrical shape that’s partially enclosed with woven rattan walls, the table exudes an open design where light can shine through.
As for the Junko Katoh, she envisions a fluffy Seat Chair that encapsulates her minimalist yet cozy aesthetics. Offered in three varying heights, the frame is made of ebony wood, while the back and seat are upholstered in white bouclé fabric.
Starting July 24, the aforementioned pieces will go on pre-ale through the Isetan Mitsukoshi website. Meanwhile, the general sale will take place from August 8 – 18. From August 7 – 13, the SHAPE OF TENDO exhibition will be on view on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku.
