New Balance Reunites With Action Bronson on Two 1906R Iterations
Arriving in “Rosewater” and “Medusa Azul” colorways.
2023 witnessed the entrance of Action Bronson into the sneaker scene through his very own New Balance 990v6 collab. Continuing his work with the brand, he now drops his sophomore collection with two iterations of 1906R silhouette.
Through his Baklava alias, and now label, the range arrives in striking hues and masterfully blends a range of colors to create a vibrant yet wearable sneaker. The running-style 1906R sneaker itself boasts a sculpted midsole, signature ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning for added comfort as well as a mesh upper built for durability and flexibility during wears.
The Baklava collection’s lighter “Rosewater” pair comprises a light mesh upper with multicolored pastel accents that blend pink, red, green, orange, and more rounded off with a magenta cage encasing the heel.
Elsewhere, the “Medusa Azul” opts for a more subtle, darker colorway that’s hit with brown and gum details. Fusing various shades of blue on the upper and midsole, it’s featured alongside silver and black accents to round off the look. Completing the design, the lateral “N” logos are dressed in a stand-out gray while the rope laces provide a pop of color in bold magenta.
In true Action Bronson fashion, the artist issued a statement that poetically describes the inspirations and feeling of his latest 1906R collection: “To have water that’s been extracted from a rose sprayed all over your face and your body … It’s truly one of the most decadent and luxurious things that you could have done to yourself in life. It’s the preservation of youth. It’s known to be in my favorite desserts. It’s something that lives within me. It’s that little droplet on the edge of the petal that seems like it’s just stuck there forever, and then gently falls upon you … splash. I really don’t know what else to say. These are all singular pieces of my soul and my art. Enjoy it.”
The latest Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R “Medusa Azul” is available at its store in The Dubai Mall retailing for 999 AED (approx. $272 USD).
