HBO has addressed the recent leak involving the Season 2 finale of House of the Dragon.

The network acknowledged the validity of the leak in a statement: “The clips were posted after an unintentional release from an international third-party distributor. HBO is aggressively monitoring and removing clips from the internet, and fans can watch the episode in its entirety this Sunday night on HBO and Max.”

Variety reports that the leak stemmed from a TikTok account that posted 14 separate videos equalling to around 30 minutes of footage from the season finale. The account was banned about three hours after the initial uploads, however the videos were able to make its way on to other social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and reddit. Additional information, such as the name of the international third-party distributor, were revealed.

The House of the Dragon Season 2 finale is set to hit HBO and Max on August 4.
