Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1 and Artist Clarence Ruth Team Up for A Racing-Inspired Capsule
The three brands came together for a collection that combines preppy colors, sporty silhouettes and racing details.
Tommy Hilfiger has long been a champion of F1 and its latest foray into the world of racing is a limited-edition collaboration capsule created with partner Mercedes-AMG F1 and artist Clarence Ruth. The collection offers a melange of influences, merging Ruth’s take on the all-American and preppy Tommy Hilfiger look with the sporty style of the F1 drivers and fans.
The collection features essentials in any sports fan’s closet like varsity jackets and jerseys with a Tommy Hilfiger spin. A classic varsity jacket comes in two styles and utilizes color-blocking and an asymmetrical element to give it an edge. Soccer jerseys are plentiful in this capsule as they come in a variety of color combinations with each displaying a different driver’s racing number. An ice hockey jersey also makes an appearance with long sleeves for colder occasions.
While the jerseys and varsity jackets may be the most prevalent, the collection also contains long-sleeved shirts, chinos and a polo shirt. A tee shirt with a print reminiscent of a care label features the classic Tommy Hilfiger logo while incorporating the Mercedes logo next to the car dashboard-inspired symbols. All of the tops and jackets in this collection feature the logos of Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1 and Cotte D’Armes (Ruth’s fashion label) so each brand leaves its mark.
“Designing this collection challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and think more creatively,” says Clarence Ruth. “I usually design tailored pieces, so with sports being at the base of this collection, I had to think a little more outside the box. It’s been an incredible journey collaborating with the Tommy Hilfiger and Mercedes-AMG F1™ teams, selecting colors and finalizing designs. I feel blessed.”
The Tommy X Mercedes-AMG F1 X Clarence Ruth collection is available on Tommy Hilfiger’s website, Mercedes-AMG F1’s website, and select Tommy Hilfiger stores.
