G-SHOCK’s G-STEEL GBM-2100 Series Blends Beauty and Strength

G-SHOCK’s latest G-STEEL collection unveils a new range of watches featuring an elegant, mixed-material construction. Including three unique colorways, the GBM-2100 series receives a metal update paired back to a bio-based resin band. The GBM-2100 line is known for inheriting the iconic octagonal shape of the DW-5000C, while a circular hairline finish adds alluring depth to the dial and bezel.
The GBM-2100-1A, GBM-2100A-1A2 and GBM-2100A-1A3 are replete with Tough Solar and Smartphone Link technology. Drawing from any light source — artificial or natural — the watches can self-charge. With Smartphone Link, the watches utilize Bluetooth connectivity to aid in accurate timekeeping. Wearers can access various customizable functions and alarm features through the Casio Watches App.
As for the collection’s componentry, the all-new models feature a stainless steel bezel meticulously forged, cut and polished in an octagonal shape reminiscent of the DW-5000C; a mirror polish is then applied to the bezel, amplifying its lustrous sheen. The bezel’s inner case also incorporates glass fiber-reinforced resin to safeguard the internal module. A subtle oblong grid pattern printed on the dial adds a sense of texture and refinement to the wrist pieces. Across the range, vapor deposition and phosphorescent treatments enhance the dimensionality of the LCD and inset dial.
Standouts of the collection include the sky-blue GBM-2100A-1A2 and earthy GBM-2100A-1A3. These watches exclusively feature a vapor deposition treatment that produces a glimmering metallic effect on the dial, seamlessly merging beauty and strength.
Standard specs return, including world time in 38 cities, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms and a hand-shift feature. The watches are shock-resistant and equipped with 20-bar water resistance and a Super Illuminator LED to enhance readability in dim-lit environments.
