Canadian skateboarding is set to hit the world stage in style thanks to a new collaboration between Canada Skateboard, the national governing body for the sport, and Toronto-based lifestyle brand October’s Very Own (OVO). The partnership goes beyond just designing uniforms for the 2024 Paris Olympics – it’s about fusing OVO’s signature Canadian style with a look that reflects the National Team’s spirit.

OVO’s design expertise is on full display in the official uniforms, which will be sported by Canadian skateboarders as they compete in Paris. The collection features varsity jackets, hoodies, and tees that seamlessly blend OVO’s iconic owl logo with the Canada Skateboard emblem. These limited-edition pieces are a nod to both classic and contemporary styles, aiming to inspire a new generation of skaters and fans alike.

The Canada Skateboard and OVO collaboration is monumental for both skateboarding and Canadian sports. OVO’s involvement is expected to fuel the growth of skateboarding in Canada, inspiring future generations of athletes.

“As a skateboarder and Olympian, I know how important it is to feel good in what you wear, especially when all eyes are on you,” Annie Guglia, President, Canada Skateboard explained. “I’m beyond excited that the team will have a uniform that they can wear proudly, that showcases their unique styles, and that will make them shine even brighter in Paris. Look good, feel good!”

The Canada Skateboard x OVO collection won’t just be hanging in wardrobes – it’ll be available for purchase on the OVO website as well as their Canadian retail locations; a limited-edition skateboard will also be available as a Canadian app exclusive.Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be reinvested back into Canada Skateboard, directly supporting the athletes and fostering the development of skateboarding across the nation. This initiative is poised to leave a lasting impact, propelling Canadian skateboarding to new heights of recognition on the global stage.

“OVO has always been about creating your own path,” Oliver El-Khatib, CEO, October’s Very Own said. “This partnership speaks to our shared values and celebrates these athletes, who are trailblazers in their own right. As someone who grew up skateboarding, it’s inspiring to see this generation of skaters recognized at the highest level.”
