Starbucks Celebrates Coffee and Culture with the Launch of Starbucks Milano Duetto
Inspired by Milan’s colorful culture, Starbucks Duetto coffees were unveiled at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milano, inviting locals into an immersive art experience that brought to life the intersection of coffee, art and music.

Starbucks has always been about more than just coffee. Coffee is the connector that brings people together, and the brand has always aspired to celebrate this interconnectedness while highlighting the experiences that can occur when connecting over a cup of coffee. More than 50 years ago, Starbucks began as a small store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market selling whole-bean coffee, and today the Starbucks experience is known worldwide.

Inspired by the vibrant coffee culture of Milan, Italy, the brand debuted Starbucks Duetto, a line of two new coffees. The new coffees were unveiled at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. Starbucks Milano Sole and Starbucks Milano Luna are inspired by the heritage that enlivens Milan and the Starbucks heritage in roasting. These coffees are two distinct flavor profile iterations of the same blend; one a dark roast and one light roast coffee. Crafted by Starbucks master roasters in Milan and Seattle, these blends emphasize the duality of tradition and innovation.
The Starbucks Milano Duetto was unveiled exclusively at the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery in Milan on May 21st. From May 21st to May 26th, customers could visit the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Milano to try out the coffees in two limited-edition handcrafted beverages: the Starbucks Milano Luna Caramel Macchiato and the Starbucks Milano Sole Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso.
To celebrate the coffee unveiling, Starbucks invited locals and coffee lovers into festive, immersive experiences that spotlighted the intersection of coffee, art, and music. During this one-day event, Milanese muralists Orticanoodles created large-scale murals showcasing the contrast between dark and light. The artist duo, Wally and Alita, are known for their graffiti-inspired artwork and brought their creative synergy to Starbucks to portray the new coffee blends in a unique light.
When guests stepped into the roastery, they were greeted with an immersive experience in the form of an alluring digital installation exploring the realms of coffee roasting and art. Visitors could also participate in a Digital Booth to create engaging, shareable social media content. Bringing the party from day to night, the Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Milan hosted an event featuring a performance by Grammy Award-winning DJ Black Coffee — showing that coffee can be enjoyed and celebrated at any time of the day.
Following the debut of these limited-release, special-edition coffees in Milan, the Starbucks Milano Duetto will be available in Starbucks stores around the world later this year.
