BoTT Collaborates With Meguru Yamaguchi in New Capsule Collection
Featuring tees and accessories with the Japanese artist’s dynamic imprint.
Birth of The Teenager (BoTT) has collaborated with Japanese-born, New York-based artist Meguru Yamaguchi on a limited capsule collection. Founded in 2019 by fellow Japanese artist TEITO, BoTT produces timeless streetwear staples using premium materials and playful graphics, which in the past has included collaborations with Umbro, TTTMSW and Reebok.
Yamaguchi, who runs the Brooklyn-based studio and collective GOLD WOOD ARTWORKS, is known for creating dynamic abstract paintings that appear like an explosion of paint frozen in time. Notably inspired by the expressive works of Vincent Van Gogh and Kazuo Shiraga, over the past decade Yamaguchi has developed an aesthetic that is less about representation, and more an emphasis on the feeling of painting, as he super-sizes his brushstrokes into three-dimensional canvases and sculptures.
BoTT and Yamaguchi created a line of simple branded tees, pillows and an ash tray bearing both the label’s acronym overlaid on Yamaguchi’s signature blue, black and white abstracted marks. Shop the full collection online.
