Shake Shack Delivers the Smoky Heat With Limited Edition Al Pastor Menu in UK
Featuring an exclusive cheeseburger, chicken burger and fries.
Shake Shack is expanding its menu to include Al Pastor. A sweet and smoky roasted pork, the Al Pastor menu is launching exclusively at Shake Shack locations in the UK on March 15 and will be available up until May 30.
In true Shake Shack fashion, a burger leads the menu but the Al Pastor Burger offers a unique twist on the typical meal inspired by the traditional Mexican marinade. Pineapple, onion and chipotle mayo top a chilli cheddar cheeseburger, intertwining layers of sweetness and tang with the smokiness of the meat.
As an alternative to those who prefer chicken over pork, the burger also comes in chicken form. All of the same toppings and sauces return but the pork is swapped out for a crispy chicken breast.
To pair with one’s burger of choice, the Chipotle Cheese Fries feature the same tangy sauce, alongside cherry peppers and spring onions.
“Our guests continue to crave exciting new variations of spicy burgers, so we sought to create our Al Pastor menu to showcase flavours taken from Mexican cuisine, specifically tacos, to deliver a smoky heat,” Culinary & Product Development Manager of Shake Shack Peter Kayaian said. “We take core ingredients of the traditional Al Pastor marinade, like whole dried guajillo and ancho chilies and blend them into a potent sauce.”
