McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are expanding their partnership with one another. Krispy Kreme doughnuts were first tested and sold in McDonald’s in 2022 and will now be doubling its distribution across McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. The chain announced that it will be selling in McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. by the end of 2026.

The roll out process will begin in the latter half of the year and will take a bout two and a half years for Krispy Kreme to fully enter into McDonald’s restaurants. This partnership makes McDonald’s the exclusive fast-food partner for Krispy Kreme in the U.S. Using a “hub and spoke” model, the production hubs (either stores or doughnut factories), will send freshly made doughnuts to the retail locations each day.

This marks a major opportunity for Krispy Kreme, expanding its reach with the help of the many McDonald’s locations across America. Currently, McDonald’s has 13,500 locations in the U.S. and has plans to open 900 more by 2027. Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer said, “This partnership is an exciting next step in that journey and a chance to unlock new business opportunities in the breakfast category and throughout the day. Our fans’ love for Krispy Kreme runs deep, and we can’t wait to make it even easier for them to satisfy their sweet tooth at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.” Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said, “The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘Please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”
