German National Football Team to Sign Kit Deal With Nike in 2027
The shock move ends an over 70-year consecutive partnership with German sportswear giant adidas.

In a shock move, Germany is set to swap adidas for Nike as their official kit sponsor from 2027. The German Football Association (DFB) announced that they will be moving from their native brand – which has sponsored Germany since 1954 – in less than three years.
The news of the break-up between adidas and Germany is one of the most shocking sponsorship swaps in football history – given adidas and Germany’s rich history together as partners. During their partnership, adidas and Germany have lifted three World Cups and two European Championships.
“We look forward to working with Nike and the trust placed in us,” said DFB president Bernd Neuendorf in a recent statement announcing the surprise partnership. “The future partnership will enable the DFB to continue to carry out key tasks in the coming decade…But one thing is also clear:
“Until December 2026, we will do everything we can to achieve shared success with our long-standing and current partner adidas, to whom German football has owed a lot for more than seven decades.” The upcoming 2026 World Cup will be Die Mannschaft’s last kit with The Three Stripes in the current sponsorship.
