This year marks the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week, which has established itself as an experimental playground for newborn designers. Some have grown into world-class talent, seeing the likes of Simone Rocha, Alexander McQueen, and Stella McCartney nurtured by the capital’s ample creativity.

Saul Nash, for one, is continuing to expand his horizons, sharing his choreographed aptitude with UK crowds. The designer often revels in dance, going from movement concessioner to menswear powerhouse in a few short years. Supported by the British Fashion Council, Nash returned to London Fashion Week and ignited a noughties rave dictated by local MCs. Models strolled casually before breaking out into slow-motion garage moves. They dramatically migrated down the runway with energetic spirits, seeing them swoon over Jourdan Dunn, who appeared in cropped womenswear to close the show.

Nash’s Fall/Winter 2024 “DRESS CODES” offering made us want to shake our bodies, oozing with street-ready athleticism and sensible British culture. The 31-look range recalled decade-past uniform rituals, where “no hoods/no hats/no trainers” were allowed inside London clubs.

Nash’s new collection guarantees access to any venue, transitioning from street to dancefloor in a flash. Indented puffer jackets and grinning coats were the name of the game, landing in gradient hues and sweat-licking fabrics. Baggy sweatpants and skin-tight tops donned dancing figures under the moonlight, while zipped gilets previewed muscular bodies packed with energy. Nash’s bold namesake branding jumped from monogram polos to thick-cut scarves, completing the collection with two sensual womenswear looks that drew eyes far and wide.
