Reiss and McLaren Formula 1 Draw a Parallel Between Fashion and Fast Cars in Debut Collection

When Reiss signed a multi-year contract with the McLaren Formula 1 Team last year, the deal ushered a new chapter for the fashion brand, marking its first formal sports partnership. Despite its infancy in performance wear, Reiss appeared to be a natural fit for McLaren with their shared commitment to delivering quality and channeling innovative style.


Honing in on its philosophy of meticulous design, the initial capsule for McLaren’s team uniform stood out as both refined and functional. Employing precision processes and technical textiles, it mirrored the complexity of motorsport engineering in contemporary tailoring. With a proven success amongst its members, Reiss has now widened its collection for the public – releasing a selection of pieces including versatile polo tops and durable leather jackets – that continue to merge the two worlds.

In the latest arrival, three capsules are united in their close attention to detail but distinctive in their unique style profiles, presenting a fresh take on the special McLaren uniform. The first range – titled “Hype” – introduces tailored lines through a selection of racing-inspired streetwear garments. Leather baseball jackets recrafted with a sharper driver silhouette characterize the offering with its polished day-to-night look. This outerwear piece is paired with resort shirts and knitwear tops that feature tour-inspired prints and patterns in McLaren’s signature orange hue.


Meanwhile, the “Dynamic” and “Fan Wear” capsules provide a more literal interpretation of the high-tailored aesthetics. With two-piece suits, jackets, trousers, and quilted gilets, the range combines sartorial cuts with technical materials, enhancing the functionality of the pieces. In a similar fashion to the F1 Team capsule, these crease-free garments come together to provide a uniform for travel and on-the-go lifestyles. Other pieces include mercerized polo tops and jersey sweatshirts, rounding off the timeless engineered look.

Accompanying the release of the collection, Reiss and McLaren Formula 1 Team put forth a new campaign set in the heart of the McLaren HQ. Surrounded by the cutting-edge workshop, the dynamic video features the garments hoisted by mechanical equipment in framed boxes as they undergo product testing, aiming to show how fashion and motorsport are connected through their mission to push the boundaries of craftsmanship.
