After kicking its year off with the release of the new LSX II LT speakers, KEF continues to bolster its line up of premium home audio products with the introduction of the KC92 and Kube subwoofers. The latest launch from the British audio brand is a signification expansion of its subwoofer range and more than doubles its total subwoofer options. The new KC92 and Kube subwoofers build on the brand’s already well regarded subs and promise to deliver “deep and detailed bass” in beautifully designed products that KEF hopes will appeal audiophiles, cinephiles, and gamers alike.

The KC92 – an evolution of the brand’s KF92 – is a force-cancelling, 1000 watt subwoofer that comes in two color options, ‘Black Gloss’ or ‘White Gloss’, and features dual 9-inch drivers that help it to “surpass expectations for its size” with sound that fills rooms sized between 10 and 100 square meters (approximately 30-1,000 square feet). Both the KC92 and the Kube feature KEF’s Music Integrity Engine, a proprietary digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm that’s tailored for each model to help ensure the components of each individual subwoofer unit are working in perfect harmony. Inside, the KC92’s features a patent-pending P-Flex Surround system, the design of which was inspired by Japanese origami, with a pleated construction that regulates internal air pressure to produce the cleanest, most precise bass possible. KEF claims this results in “distortion-free depth”. The KC92 includes multiple power modes for energy efficiency, including an  ‘Auto Wake Up’ mode that recognizes when an audio signal has been connected. The subwoofer is also configured for multiple room set ups – five to be precise – with a switch on the rear so users can easily change their settings as required. An optional KW1 Wireless Subwoofer Adapter Kit gives users the option to go wire-free, though this not included in the box and is sold separately.

KEF’s Kube comes in four sizes, with eight inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch variants. It also benefits from both the same DSP and the KW1 wireless adapter, though there are only three preconfigured room options to the KC92’s five. The Kube also features a smaller – albeit front-firing – 300W driver, intentionally designed to maximize lower frequency output, which the brand claims creates a “tactile, compressed, and potent bass experience.” However, unlike the KC92, the Kube is only available in black.

Both the KC92 and all four variants of the Kube are available now at KEF, with prices starting at $599 USD / £599 GBP.
