It was raining leading up to Jil Sander‘s Milan Fashion Week – a common theme for Jil Sander Milan runways and for the label’s husband-and-wife creative director duo Luke and Lucie Meier; Lucie told @stylenotcom Instagram that it rained on their wedding day as well but the two still walked out onto the aisle into beaming sunlight.

On the rainy Milan Saturday, models strutted Jil Sander’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection down a sage green carpet wound around a fully sage room. After “an enveloping feeling,” the Meiers envisioned a world of their own in the ovular Milanese showroom, backed by atmospheric live music from mk.gee.

“There’s a lot of healing to sage. It’s sort of a protective color,” Luke Meier told WWD.

Oversized silhouettes and rounded edges lead the collection, offering up an answer to Lucy’s question which catalyzed the collection: “Who doesn’t like comfort?”

Red and sage green hues dominate the color palette, with other looks coming in more neutral brown, black and cream tones. Quilted down coats and layer-able knitwear tops were contrasted against glimmering statement jewelry and mohair accessories, making for a striking display.
