Carhartt Curates First Women's Workwear Capsule
Prioritizing “durability and comfort.”

Coverall aficionado since 1917, Carhartt is expanding its scope. The trusted workwear outfitter is stepping into womenswear, combining comfort and durability to whip up its first fully-fledged capsule for women at work.
For its first foray into the field, Carhartt keeps it classic, delivering a lineup of Tencel sweatshirts and tees, ensuring supreme comfort and breathability. The label plans to expand its apparel range in due time, looking to add additional styles of work pants, joggers and denimwear.
“Women are entering the trades at a much faster pace than men,” Carhartt’s chief brand officer Susan Hennike told WWD. “We have always shot our photography, done our campaigns, as well as researched our product on real people — real workers. And in doing that with women, we found what she wanted and it was very apparent that she has different needs. We like to think of ourselves as the leader in workwear and we saw a bigger opportunity to lead in women’s.”
The Carhartt team listened to the needs of its target audience, presenting, above all, a practical array of clothing. “After meeting with real women in the field, we repeatedly heard they needed lighter, more comfortable clothes versatile enough for both on and off the job that could outlast their day,” Henikke continued.
“We went to work to design products that feel softer and lighter, wear better and add breathability, without sacrificing durability. This collection is truly inspired by women, designed by women and built for women who know the definition of hard work.”
