Acne Studios FW24 Is a High-Speed Interpretation of Modern Femininity
Jonny Johansson delivers sculptural uniforms that redefine powerful dressing codes.

Jonny Johansson‘s Acne Studios has grown a cult with influence and poise. The brand knows how to tap into the here and now, letting the good times roll last season and delivering a high-speed interpretation of modern femininity for Fall/Winter 2024.
Acne Studios landed on the Paris Fashion Week schedule with futurism in mind, opening the doors to a broad venue decorated with Villu Jaanisoo’s 2001 inflated artwork Chairs in Rubber. The industrial sculptures reflect Acne Studios’ fascination with denim and leather, which evolve across the collection with mechanical coding and an ultra-modern edge.
FW24 is guided by statuesque figures that reinterpret contemporary dressing codes, manipulating signature materials into novel costumes. The range is an empowering display of the future, kicked off with a long-haired coat in monstrous proportions. It set the tone for what was to come, being ushered in by motorsports dresses in body-hugging latex. Female figures were outlined with pointed breasts, while others were pulled to the side or slouched at the chest in a gravity-defying fashion. Supple leather shape-shifted from tops to bodysuits, trimming faded trucker jackets with blossoming necklines.
Acne Studios looked to relax in onesie-style dresses with diagonal zippers, revamping the Snuggie-à-la-mode. Neutral palettes increased wearability across the architectural line, seeing Johansson take his final bow with raging applause.
