UNDERCOVER RECORDS Fashions German Rock Band CAN's Eclectic Sound
The 12-piece apparel collection features mod coats, coach jackets, MA-1s, pullovers, sweaters and more flaunting designs inspired by the group’s best music.

UNDERCOVER RECORDS, the fictional music label that launched in 2006 under Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER umbrella, has partnered with German rock band CAN for a 12-piece collection of expressive apparel inspired by the experimental group’s discography.
Formed in the late 1960s, CAN’s signature sound blends psychedelic rock, electronic, jazz and avant-garde sound elements into its own distinct concoction. UNDERCOVER RECORDS has previously joined forces with the group — specifically, on a slew of analog records and apparel items in 2017 — though this latest team-up is their most expansive ready-to-wear output yet.

The campaign above, which stars Takahashi himself, among others, shows off the rock-tinged collaboration’s eclectic mod coats, coach jackets, MA-1s, pullover tops, sweatshirts, and T-shirts — all of which make their own nod to CAN’s impactful tunes. Notably, the designs pay homage to the band’s 1969 debut album Monster Movie (Made in a Castle with Better Equipment), 1973’s Future Day and 1977’s Saw Delight, as well as their 1973 single “Vitamic C” and 1976 hit “I Want More.”
The UNDERCOVER RECORDS x CAN collection will launch online and in UNDERCOVER’s Japan stores on Saturday, December 7, at 11 a.m. JST. See the full lineup in the gallery above.
