Saint Laurent Is Suiting Up for Spring 2025
Designer Anthony Vaccarello masters the suit in all of its traditional, quirky and modern iterations.
Under a golden oculus in Saint Laurent’s courtyard during Paris Fashion Week this past September, Anthony Vaccarello’s Spring 2025 womenswear collection taught a lesson in power-dressing. Today, the designer’s menswear manifesto for the same season is similarly suiting up. In 32 looks, it’s abundantly clear that the modern Saint Laurent man is all about business — and he’s rarely without a formal collar and tie while getting sh*t done.
The executive line begins with smart iterations of the classic suit: grey and creme blazers layer over bright button-up tops and muted, tailored trousers, and a colorful tie — in this case, some teal and others pink — becomes the statement. Then there are the silky, scarf-like ties that billow down the torso over thinner, pattern-clad shirts, some left on their own and others poking out from under bold-shouldered sports coats.
In a few looks, striking tops are wrapped and tucked into equally head-turning skirts — one done with a multi-toned cow print and another decorated with stripes in several colors. In a few more, sweeping vests in black and creme tones add dimension to the signature shirt-and-tie, and in the final round, the tuxedo is made contemporary with fluffy collars, curvaceous waistcoats and scarves for ties.
Here, Saint Laurent is putting its stamp on the rule book for how the formal men’s wardrobe should look — in all of its classic, quirky and modish iterations.
