A new report from Financial Times revealed that Rockstar Games‘ highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI could earn a whopping $3.2 billion USD in its first year alone.

DFC Intelligence analysts project that the video game, which will be the first in the franchise since 2013, will rake in $1 billion USD in pre-orders alone. IDG Consulting’s Yoshio Osaki also noted that the anticipation for GTA VI is “great than anything” they’ve seen before, “We think it’s going to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history, not just in games but for all of media.”

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick agreed, “I think Rockstar Games will once again deliver something absolutely phenomenal.” However, he reminds fans to tame their expectations. “I never claim victory before it occurs,” he said, “but the anticipation is high.”

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release in Fall 2025. Stay tuned for an official trailer and release date.
