Bridgestone Golf and Period Correct Honor Auto and Golf Culture
Connecting Bridgestone’s golf heritage to the present.
Car and golf culture are increasing intersecting these days as household names from F1 like Lando Norris and Alex Albon take part in made-for-TV golf competitions. Even endemic golf brand TaylorMade recently collaborated with Red Bull Racing. Now it’s Bridgestone’s turn. Unbeknownst to some outside the golf industry, the company has been making both car tires and golf balls since the 1930s, and Bridgestone Golf‘s new DRIVE collaboration with fashion car culture label Period Correct connects this heritage to the present.
“Golf is evolving and bringing in new audiences, and that’s making the game more popular than ever,” said the president of Bridgestone Golf, Dan Murphy. “We want to find impactful and authentic ways to introduce Bridgestone to that new generation of players. This collaboration uniquely leverages our car and golf cultures to meet new audiences through a shared passion.”
Driving this message home, a central theme of the apparel collection are vintage Bridgestone ad campaigns which are placed on solid white, 0ff-white and green shirts. The line of unisex apparel also includes bucket hats, hoodies and quarter-zips with the standard Bridgestone and Period Correct logos as well as a special checkered design which incorporates either emblem. Naturally, the collaboration also includes boxes of co-branded Bridgestone TOUR B X golf balls, a premium ball used on professional tours worldwide.
