Rhuigi Villaseñor Appointed Creative Lead of Como 1907 Football Club
Appointed Chief Brand Officer, the Rhude founder will lead fashion direction and the club’s lifestyle brand push.
Rhude-founder Rhuigi Villaseñor has been appointed Chief Brand Officer of Italian football club Como 1907, as originally reported by WWD. In his latest creative endeavor, Villaseñor will be entrusted with reshaping the club into a full-fledged lifestyle brand as the team returns to Serie A for the first time in more than 20 years.
The Filipino-American designer is no stranger to European-based partnerships both luxury and mass-market. Villaseñor previously led the creative overhaul of Swiss fashion house Bally and was tapped as a Zara collaborator for his R.H.U. apparel line. A proud Filipino immigrant himself, the combination of an aspirational gaze upon European luxury and Americana aesthetics has been a consistent theme throughout his work at Rhude.
His SS25 Rhude presentation, which took place in Como, teased some of the work he has been doing behind the scenes with Como 1907, including co-branded polo shirts and windbreaker jackets. As he takes the reigns as Chief Brand Officer for the football club Villaseñor will be entrusted with fashion direction and merchandise development. Also a minority owner of the club, the designer told WWD that he hopes to turn Como 1907 into a “globalized IP and a globalized name.”
