New Photos From Kendrick Lamar's 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers' Album on Display At Renell Medrano's Exhibit
The exhibit runs until November.
Never-before-seen photos taken for Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album is on display at photographer’s Renell Medrano’s “Lambón” exhibit at WSA.
The images showcase outtakes from that photoshoot and unveil the other options Medrano shot before landing on his final album cover. A pair of black-and-white photos see the Lamar family — Whitney Alford, Dot’s partner, and their two kids — inside a home, and the rapper can be spotted sporting the diamond “crown of thorns” and even holding on to a shotgun as he stands behind them. Another set of images features Lamar sitting on a couch while holding his youngest son.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted a similar photo which showed his father holding on to a shotgun, and a comparable weapon can also been seen on the back of the Mr. Morale album perched on the corner of the room next to a photo of him and his father from Dot’s g.o.o.d kid, M.A.A.d city photobook.
