Missy Elliott Becomes Third-Ever Female Rapper To Make over $2 Million USD in One Concert
A testament to her legendary status.
Missy Elliott continues to cement herself as a legendary rapper in the hip-hop game with her most recent feat. The icon has become the third-ever rapper to rake in over $2 million USD just from one concert.
Earlier last week, Touring Data posted, “@MissyElliott is officially the third female rapper to gross over $2 million in a single concert in US history, joining #DojaCat and #NickiMinaj.” In another post, its data found, “@MissyElliott earned her highest grossing concert of all-time on August 8, 2024, with $2.050 million at Capital One Arena in Washington as part of the ‘Out of this World Tour.’”
The highly successful tour was first announced back in April and has been her first-ever headlining tour. She was joined by Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland on tour. Throughout the tour, she has also brought out Lil Kim to perform the 2003 hit “The Jumpoff” and their 1997 collab, “Not Tonight (Ladies Night).” The 24-city tour kicked off in Vancouver and ended on August 22 in Rosemont, Illinois. Missy Elliott has been known for some of the biggest hits in hip-hop, spanning across six studio albums throughout the decades. She was considered one of the biggest stars in the early 2000s with songs like “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” “Lose Control,” and more being anthems of the decade.
