STAMM FW24 Balances Commercial Living and Human Potential
Commenting on mundane routines with puffed silhouettes ready for bed.
Elisabet Stamm‘s eponymous label is becoming a dominant force in the Danish fashion scene. Since launching STAMM in 2022, the designer has earned Zalando‘s annual sustainability award while holding her first independent showcase last season. She has returned to Copenhagen Fashion Week once again, grasping an afternoon spot on the busy schedule for day two.
STAMM’s Fall/Winter 2024 runway flooded Copenhagen Contemporary with dozens of excited show-goers. The naked venue was sparsely filled with taped moving boxes, overflowing lemon baskets, and lived-in furniture, kicking off the show with live music and slam poetry. “Maximum potential,” British poet Ephraim Raiden Rose shouted firmly, “are you present? Are you learning your lessons?”
The collection balanced commercial living with human perspectives, commenting on the mundane routines that overrun modern-day society. Here, bedding turned into coats and cushions became daily accessories, while soaked towels and puffed gear oozed with inactivity. Monstrous puffer jackets donned round shaping and reflective lining, transforming into hooded crop tops and capes ready for bed. Down-filled panels grew from additional designs — wrapping waists and gliding down the runway floor.
Golden “POTENTIAL” lettering popped from slouchy sweatshirts with encouragement, landing on boxy tees paired with pillowcase handbags for naps on the go. STAMM’s FW24 showcase concluded with a trio of fringed looks, shredding bleached denim into elongated skirts and motorcycle jackets with pre-dirtied finishes.
