RHUDE FW24 Evokes the Modern American Dream
Combined with the inspiration of the natural beauty of the English countryside.
Rhuigi Villaseñor unveils his RHUDE‘s Fall/Winter 2024 collection during Paris Fashion Week to a room filled with some of the industry’s biggest names and critics. With this collection, Rhuigi continues to evoke the optimism of the American Dream, this time with the inspiration of the natural beauty of the English countryside. The set of the show was ominous and resembled that of a scene from space. With a robotic camera on the runway that was reminiscent of the Mars Rover. As a satellite descends from the ceiling, it sets the tone for the collection which is what Rhuigi has always dreamed of — a collection that is the satellite of love.
In the past few seasons, RHUDE continues to a reflection of the designer’s personal stories since he came to Los Angeles. Season-to-Season, RHUDE combines American iconography with nostalgic references, all while giving a visual commentary on modern Los Angeles style and the subcultures around it. The collection finds a middle between American Fashion and the traditional countryside with classic English suiting and tailoring motifs mixed into the modern menswear silhouette.
In color palette, the English countryside’s soft pastel shades of lavender, combining sage green and sky blue along with pops of red and golden yellow evoke a sense of vibrancy yet tranquility all at the same time. In true RHUDE fashion, oversized blazers with dramatic lapels were paired with denim jeans and quarter zip sweaters, while full sets of leather on leather and denim on denim continue to make an appearance on the runway.
