Martine Rose FW24 Was a Seamless Transition From Day to Night

Martine Rose always seems to have a surprise up her sleeve. The announcement of her Paris Fashion Week presentation came at midnight a day before her show, with the London-raised designer deciding to return to the Fashion Week schedule. This spontaneity from Rose created a party-like feel at the intimate venue, with a slew of two-step-worthy anthems blasting as a complement to the intricately designed collection.

And as the good vibes and conversation radiated throughout the crowd, the first look came in the form of an oversized tailored jacket, fitted smartly with a white shirt, tie, and tailored trousers. This first combination of garments encapsulated the entire essence of what was to come from the show: practicality, prowess, and a totally London-centric celebration of inner-city style that’s suited to the hustle and bustle of daily commutes.

As models continued to make their way down the runway, day-to-day evolved into nightlife, with vibrancy coming in abundance. For example, orange velvet trousers were introduced with pink high heels, while camouflage cargo pants and black pointed stilettos were brought to life with sparkling belts. These influences seemed to be hand-picked from Rose’s love for raving, with the prints — such as the eye-catching blue zebra print — and in-your-face padding embracing the intoxicated brilliance of the dance floor.

Finishing off her exuberant FW24 offering, Rose introduced a cropped cream suit, which was once again brought to life by a clean-cut tie and pointed boots. This final look ended things nicely, presenting itself as a well-rounded, fun, and totally Rose affair that will go down as one of the main highlights of PFW.
