Uniforms Become One at Junya Watanabe MAN FW24
The Japanese designer revealed new collaborations with Carhartt, Palace Skateboards, New Balance, and more.

Japan’s Junya Watanabe is one of the most creative designers out there, constantly experimenting with fresh design methods ahead of their time. The same can be said for Junya Watanabe MAN‘s Fall/Winter 2024 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, which kicked off day three with melded wardrobes that expanded on the brand’s genre-defying archetypes.
Junya Watanabe MAN FW24 embraced the season’s wearable tailoring trends, producing 39 looks of style manipulation. The collection returned to a disheveled building in central Paris, where freshly awakened guests sat on petite wooden benches, excited to observe another collection by the visionary designer.
The modern male wardrobe was revisited with unexpected unions, seeing checkered suiting and pinstriped trousers merge into single garments that flowed with symmetry. Double-breasted coats turned into winded denim skirts donning sliced imperfections, while preppy sweaters and cardigans were layered beneath eloquent blazers with trench coat hemlines. Seven collaborations were revealed on the dim-lit runway, with Levi’s delivering 12 denim styles with overdrawn outlines. A single Palace Skateboards cap followed while Watanabe supplied an elegant take on the New Balance M1906 with loafer-style constructions. Brooks Brothers, INNERRAUM , and Heinrich Dinkelacker completed the FW24 partnerships with dramatic tailoring and relaxed silhouettes, seeing Carhartt continue its alliance with pocketed workwear uniforms.
