Hublot Enlists Chinese Artist, Chen Fenwan to Co-Create a Lunar New Year Limited-Edition
Unveiling the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon.

Hublot has prepared a special timepiece for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations. Crafted with the Year of the Wood Dragon in mind, the brand tapped contemporary Chinese artist, Chen Fenwan to reimagine the striking mythical creature for a Spirit of Big Bang timepiece.
The Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon watch arrives in the model’s usual dimensions, measuring 42mm in diameter, and 13.8mm in thickness. Inside the satin and polished-finished titanium frame dwells a kooky dragon design that’s presented in Fenwan’s signature paper art aesthetic. Rendered in shades of fuchsia, white, gray, and indigo, the dragon is composed of five varying layers that result in a striking and multi-dimensional effect. All hour markings have been omitted, leaving only Hublot’s logo and a set of skeleton hands on the dial.
Despite its elaborate appearance, the reference is still capable of withstanding up to 10 ATM underwater. It’s powered by the brand’s own HUB1710 self-winding caliber, built to run continuously for up to 50 hours. Accompanying the watch is a rubber strap in an all-over pattern that emulates the scales of a dragon. In addition to that, a plain gray fabric strap is also available.
Releasing in a limited run of 88 examples – an auspicious number that signifies fortune and prosperity – the limited-edition watch retails for $29,500 USD via Hublot.
