Blancpain Refreshes the Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar Wristwatch With a New Look
Available in a limited run of 50 examples only.

Luxury watch Maison Blancpain has unveiled a new limited-edition Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar wristwatch to commemorate the turning of the Year of the Dragon.
2012 marked the world premiere of Blancpain’s Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar, an intricate model that incorporates a moon phase complication, as well as Chinese and Gregorian date calendars. As it has been exactly 12 years since the series debuted, the latest rendition also serves to inaugurate a new cycle for the Chinese zodiac.
As a result, the timepiece is refreshed with new and redesigned features, which include an updated look for the zodiac symbol beneath the 12 o’clock mark. Measuring 45.2mm in diameter, the timepiece comes encased in 18-carat red gold. Its full-fired Grand Feu enamel dial is presented in a luscious green hue, which beautifully contrasts all the red gold and white dial adornments.
Its transparent caseback ensures an unobstructed view of its highly-complex 3638 caliber. Composed of 464 components with a complexity that’s comparable to a minute repeater, the movement is equipped with an impressive 7-day power reserve. A meticulously engraved dragon motif can be found on the red gold winding rotor on the caliber, providing a refined finishing touch that nods to the Year of the Dragon.
Retailing for $72,400 USD, the Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar Year of the Dragon will be available in limited production of 50 examples. To inquire about its availability, visit Blancpain’s official website.
