Simone Rocha SS24 Is a Declaration of Love

The romantic collection was bold and daring, unveiling a rhinestone and pearl-encrusted collaboration with Crocs on the runway.

Irish designer Simone Rocha is a mainstay on the London Fashion Week schedule, stealing our hearts, eyes, and souls with romantic collections that ooze with darkness. For Fall/Winter 2023, Rocha built her own sinister doll house inside London’s Methodist Central Hall and took a trip to the English National Ballet for Spring/Summer 2024.

The unexpectedly petite venue was painted in dark tones, with a white structure integrating female figures standing in the center of the room. Low-tone instrumentals filled the air in tribute to the historic ballet school, enchanting the human senses with high-pitched vocals that were unsettling and dramatic. The collection was a declaration of overwhelming love, balancing tension and liberation through theatrical motifs.

Affectionate flowers embellished garments throughout, with the first look tinted in delicate pink. The nylon two-piece featured twisted roses at the chest while coordinating ribbons dangled across the floor. Translucent versions were divided by real flowers stuck inside, transitioning onto pocketed tracksuits with a slouchy fit. Exaggerated ribbons were tied to formal shirting and over-the-knee dresses with a celebratory feel, followed by the designer’s pearl-embellished suiting and lace-trimmed motorcycle jackets.

Simone Rocha debuted her first collaboration with Crocs on the runway, embellishing the perforated sports-style silhouettes with shimmering rhinestones and jumbo-sized pearls.
