BET unveiled the nominees for the 18th annual BET Hip Hop Awards. While 21 Savage and Cardi B both lead the pack with 12 nominations each, Drake follows with nine nominations to his name, and Burna Boy and DJ Khaled round out the top five with seven nominations each.

21 Savage boasts nominations for some of the night’s biggest awards: Hip-hop Artist of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, Hip-hop Album of the Year for Drake collab-album Her Loss, Song of the Year – also alongside Drake for “Rich Flex” – and Burna Boy for “Sittin’ On Top Of The World”. “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” also nabbed a nom in the Best Collaboration Category, and Her Loss earned Savage and Drake a spot on the Best Duo/Group list – with the album’s “Spin Bout U” as well as “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” seeing nominations for Best Hip-hop Video. Additionally, the rapper holds a nomination for the annual Hustler of the Year award, as well as one for the Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse award.

As for Cardi, she secured nominations for a run of coveted awards as well, spanning Hip-hop Artist of the Year, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, and Hustler of the Year. She landed twice in just as many categories. For Best Hip-hop Video award, she garnered nominations for the Latto collab “Put It On Da Floor Again” and GloRilla collab “Tomorrow.” Those same two songs also landed the Bronx rapper two nominations in the Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse categories as well.

In addition to Drizzy’s nine spots and Burna Boy and DJ Khaled each boasting seven, J. Cole shows out with six nominations, and Coi Leray, GloRilla, and Jay-Z all earned five nods.

“This year’s Awards will mark the culmination of our year-long celebration of hip hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion,” Connie Orlando, Executive Vice President of BET shared in a statement. “We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip hop into the future.”
