Elisabet Stamm’s eponymous label is in our watchful gaze, returning to Copenhagen Fashion Week as one of the season’s most exciting labels. Last season, the designer earned Zalando‘s annual sustainability award for her debut runway show in competition against two other brands.
STAMM goes solo for Spring/Summer 2024, holding its largest showcase in the Danish capital. Its successful debut garnered eyes from across the globe, reflecting natural human contact through extraterrestrial designs. For SS24, STAMM channeled her childhood love for horseback riding into her “Don’t Stop, We’re Dreaming” collection. The show notes detail that she was a quiet child, discovering that horseback riding allowed her to feel comfortable in her skin.
The SS24 collection continues to evaluate STAMM’s design language through oversized athletic silhouettes with a mind of their own. Abstract artwork illuminated asymmetrical tees that clung to the body, tucked into dirtied denim with stable battle scars. Blurred images of the designer riding horses vibrantly adorned jumbo hoodies and scrunched track jackets, while rock ‘n roll attitudes migrated onto glossy leather bottoms and ornamented chains.
Sustainable textiles thrive across the collection, seeing youthful knitwear printed with childhood teddy bears, double-layered pink outerwear, and “YES TO EVERYTHING” tees recall STAMM’s adolescent mentality. Once the show concluded, Elisabet Stamm bowed to the crowd hand-in-hand with her son, honoring his joyful approach to life.
