Hautlence's New Sphere Series 1 Watch Introduces 3D Elements
First revealed during Geneva Watch Days.

Contemporary watchmaker Hautlence has introduced its latest creation during this year’s Geneva Watch Days, the Sphere Series 1, designed to encapsulate the brand’s ethos of reimagining the portrayal of time.
Following suit with its innovative and radical design stance, the Sphere Series 1 introduces unique 3D elements like its twirling hour sphere and exaggerated minute markers.
The Sphere Series 1 embodies a sculptural finesse — drawing parallels with neo-futurist art, the timepiece features a mesmerizing blue sphere on its left side, protected under a beveled sapphire crystal dome. This sphere rotates on three axes, revealing the time through twelve engraved numerals. Its complex rotation is achieved through four conical gears, concealed between two titanium shells with a blue PVD treatment.
To the sphere’s right, a retrograde minute hand gracefully glides along an elegant track, with an intricate gear train exposed just beneath it, as well as the mechanism that regulates the minute hand’s movement. The exaggerated striking white numerals, which glow blue in the dark, are crafted from Globolight, a ceramic infused with Super-LumiNova.
The timepiece’s steel case is presented in the brand’s signature “TV Screen” shape, with subtle updates to achieve a more contemporary look. Bringing it all together is a steel notched crown, with a blue accent that is designed to match with the timepiece’s blue rubber strap.
At the heart of the Sphere Series 1 is the hand-wound A80 caliber, an in-house development by Hautlence. This movement showcases a skeletonized drum and ratchet, giving a direct visual of the 72-hour power reserve. Enhanced for peak performance, the movement also comes with a safety feature to protect against potential damage from incorrect time setting.
The Sphere Series 1, limited to a production of only 28 examples and priced at 66,000 CHF or $74,800 USD is available now via request on Hautlence’s official site.
Elsewhere in watches, Armin Strom unveils the One Week “First Edition,” limited to 25 watches.
