August is well underway, cueing brands such as Supreme and Palace to load up their Fall/Winter collections. Beyond that, footwear brands have been wrapping up their summer releases and in continuation of this, New Balance, Jordan Brand, ASICS, the Nike team, Crocs, Vans, PUMA and adidas are all prepared to drop some attention-deserving kicks this week. However, before we give you the complete rundown, let’s review what went down with the last seven days of news.

For starters, Hypebeast sat down with ASICS’ Marc Marquez as part of its weekly Sole Mates series of interviews. Marquez spoke on the GEL-1130, ASICS’ ever-growing collaborative portfolio, his time in the industry and more. Pivoting to the news, Foot Locker sat out of adidas’ YEEZY restock events, reportedly citing PR concerns surrounding the event as the reason, despite rumors pointing to them initially planning to participate ahead of leaks.

Looking at the Swoosh’s news, Supreme confirmed that it has a new Air Force 1 Low on the way, covering the shoe in a rich “Baroque Brown.” Social Status similarly stood out with its official announcement of part two of its four-part series with Nike on the Attack — showcasing the “Social Currency” colorway. Additional key reveals included an official breakdown of the Kobe 8 Protro “Halo” and a mule version of Nike’s Calm Slide.

As for team Jumpman, it was all about collaborations. Another Air Jordan 5 served up by A Ma Maniére hit the net, appearing in a mostly-white “Diffused Blue” presentation. On top of this, a preview of Chris Paul’s floral take on the Air Jordan 1 Low finally surfaced while Union LA, Bephies Beauty Supply and Jordan Brand went ahead and revealed their much-anticipated collection together. Wrapping up the week, JJJJound noted its return to Reebok with a new teaser of a collaborative Club C, outfitted in “Core Black” as Notre teased a collaboration with Salomon on the XT-4.

With all of the past week’s news summarized, let’s get into what to look forward to from the industry these next seven days. Afterwards, head over to HBX to review what styles can be shopped now.

GANNI x New Balance 1906R & RC30

Release Date: August 16
Release Price: $120 USD to $170 USD
Where to Buy: GANNI
Why You Should Cop: Following up on their successful campaign in 2022, GANNI and New Balance have reconnected to take on the 1906R and RC30. With the former, two colorways lean on strong contrast offered by “Egret” and “Blazing Yellow” color arrangements that pair the hues next to black detailing. As for the GANNI-exclusive RC30, it looks to bumblebees for inspiration as black and yellow trade places throughout.

HAL STUDIOS x ASICS GEL-1130 MK III “Glacier”

Release Date: August 16
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: HAL STUDIOS
Why You Should Cop: Completing the trilogy of collaborative looks on the ASICS GEL-1130, HAL STUDIOS has prepared an icy “Glacier” colorway. Drawing inspiration from the natural world once again, it takes cues from the rugged landscapes offered by glaciers worldwide. Looking at the pair itself, wide-gauge mesh is joined by hairy suede and smooth leather overlays. Various soft gray hues combine with black and orange serving as accent colors.

New Balance WRPD Runner “Sea Salt”

Release Date: August 16
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: Nowadays, footwear brands are increasingly-present during Fashion Week events. With each round of runway shows, new shoe collaborations serve as exciting moments for audiences of all fashion backgrounds to enjoy. For New Balance, a key moment for the brand this year took place during AURALEE’s Spring/Summer 2024 show in Paris. Revealing the WRPD Runner, it’s poised to be a threat in the coming months as New Balance prepares it to officially launch this week. Debuting in the brand’s signature “Sea Salt” hue, off-white hues go back and forth with black joining in at the printed “N” logos.

Advisory Board Crystals x Vans EVDNT EXT ULTI “Miracle Conditions”

Release Date: August 17
Release Price: $175 USD
Where to Buy: Advisory Board Crystals
Why You Should Cop: From one South California-based brand to another, Advisory Board Crystals (Abc.) and Vans have crafted one of the year’s most unique releases. Taking on a special twist of the EVDNT silhouette, this “Miracle Conditions” pair combines both brands to create something special. Various olive notes are joined by silver and iridescent finishes that are sure to catch eyes. Between its toggle lacing system that stretches over the shoe and its Abc.-hosted certification system, this collaboration is packed with details.

Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog “Como”

Release Date: August 17
Release Price: $85 USD
Where to Buy: Spunge
Why You Should Cop: Summer isn’t over just yet for folks in the Northern Hemisphere. With that in mind, Salehe Bembury and Crocs are back with another iteration of the bestselling Pollex Clog. Per usual, its detailing is tricky to make out thanks to graphic-heavy promotional images. However, this “Como” colorway seems to utilize a dark navy that crafts yet-another monochromatic makeover on the slip-on. If you’ve yet to give the collaboration a try, you can’t go wrong with this versatile presentation of the kicks.

adidas Stan Smith “Homer Simpson”

Release Date: August 18
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Ten months since its initial preview, Homer Simpson’s pair of adidas Stan Smiths is finally touching down on shelves. Immortalizing the popular reaction GIF of Homer backing into bushes, the heel tab serves as the key moment for this pair. Adding to the Three Stripes’ expansive range of The Simpsons-themed footwear, few looks have brewed up as much excitement as this clever rendition.

Air Jordan 38 “Fundamental”

Release Date: August 18
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: For Jordan Brand, the annual passing of the torch is upon us. Its famed Air Jordan series is turning the page to a new chapter, going from the Air Jordan 37 to the 38. This time around, a new X-Plate backs sharp movement while details such as the “X” shape draw from the Air Jordan 8. Debuting in the “Fundamental” colorway, black and white share a majority of the upper with “Siren Red” hits joined by a translucent blue outsole, ultimately creating a dynamic look to kick off the new silhouette’s run.

Reebok Question Mid “Black & Blue”

Release Date: August 18
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: Reebok
Why You Should Cop: Throughout 2023, Reebok has continued to lean on Allen Iverson’s Question Mid to offer retro styling. Previously, collabs with BSTN and Packer ushered in new colorways, and now, the brand has crafted a “Black & Blue” pair by itself. Tapping into classic color blocking, the new arrangement sees blue cover the toe box, heel tab and rubber outsole while black dominates the remainder of the sneaker, save for silver Reebok branding.

nanamica x PUMA Clyde

Release Date: August 18
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: nanamica
Why You Should Cop: For nanamica, it’s GORE-TEX or bust. Across recent years, including its various collaborations with brands such as New Era, the Japanese label has looked to the weather-fighting technology to upgrade its products. Teaming up with PUMA for its Season 2 collaboration, the duo is celebrating the Clyde sneaker’s 50th anniversary by upgrading it with GORE-TEX detailing. As a result, its upper emphasizes form more so than usual, thus modernizing the silhouette.

Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low

Release Date: August 19
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: When it comes to sneaker collecting, very few can compare to New York rapper Fat Joe. For decades, he’s been spotted rocking rare kicks, including his own Terror Squad-approved Nike Air Force 1s. Now, it’s finally time for the public to get their hands on two colorways from the duo, making the sought-after team-up available to sneakerheads for the first time ever. First, a white and black pair offers a contrast-oriented look while the “Porpoise” flavor is backed by a light blue heel and outsole. To top it all off, “TS” and “JC” embroidery is prominently featured at the heels of each.
