Adidas Signs 10-Year $1.2 Billion USD Shirt-Sponsorship Deal With Manchester United
An extension of the existing deal adidas AG has with the English football club.

Manchester United has landed a major kit deal with adidas for the next 10 years. The English football club has officially signed a $1.2 billion USD deal with adidas to renew their shirt-sponsorship deal for another decade.
The German sportswear giant has been the club’s official kit partner since 2015, when it reunited after 23 years and taking over from Nike. At the time, they came into a record £750 million GBP deal. In a statement regarding this new continued partnership, Manchester United and adidas said, “The new deal increases the focus on the Manchester United women’s team since their reintroduction in 2018.” The deal is set to last until June 2035. The Glazers, the club’s American owners are still considering selling the club despite Manchester United’s return to the lucrative Champions League.
According to the company’s latest annual report, the original agreement saw adidas link a portion of its yearly payments to the club’s participation in the Champions League. If the club does not play in the league for two or more consecutive seasons, it reduces the annual payments by 30%. adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden said in terms of the partnership, “We will combine tradition and innovation to please both the players and the fans.”
