Seb Brown Ups the Bling With His New Gold, Diamond, and Sapphire Rings

Melbourne-based jeweler Seb Brown is upping the ante with his new Dover Street Market London-sold collection. Here, the emerging designer delivers six rings in either 9ct recycled yellow gold or .925 sterling silver, but each feels like an evolution of what the jewelry maker has brought us before.

For example, his pieces that frequented the stalls at Très Bien were destined for adding sparkle to your everyday look. On the contrary, this DSML selection is about standing out from the crowd, presenting traditions and contemporary elements in one intricate statement.

Brown’s “Geometric” ring is based on a classic Florentine, crafted in recycled 9ct yellow gold. It features a mixture of stones, including a 0.103ct EF/VSI white diamond baguette, 3mm carré green sapphire, 3mm tsavorite garnet, 2mm Ceylon sapphire, 2mm Ceylon sapphire. The modern arrangement of stones is found once more on the “Byzantine” ring, also made in gold. Here, Brown adds a circle of 0.86Ct FG VSI white diamonds to the face of this signet, refreshing a highly traditional style.

Elsewhere, things get even more conceptual. The “Double Angle” ring features two pink sapphires sitting within the textured gold ring, which is made to look pronged, while the “Tilt” ring comes with a chunky oval signet design and features two white sapphires set in an off-center layout.
