University of Westminster's 2023 BA Class Showcased London's Cultural Diversity
The university’s graduating class showcased their final collections during London Fashion Week.
The UK has nurtured an endless array of thriving creative talent. Whether it be locals pursuing their childhood dreams or foreigners in search of something new, Britain has stimulated their chase for success. While London’s Central Saint Martins previewed their graduates off-schedule, the University of Westminster granted its students a London Fashion Week showcase.
University of Westminster’s 2023 BA design class each revealed looks from their graduate collections. Industry insiders flooded the event looking for the next British icon and might have found what they were looking for. The first student paid tribute to Black culture with oversized silk suiting, golden accessories, and bomber jackets with cultural embroidery. Tribal ornamentation decorated vibrant shirting and flowy trousers, while other graduates presented desert-inspired uniforms.
Elsewhere, rainbow rhinestone-covered suiting glistened under the spotlight and oozed with Hollywood cool. Patchwork ornamentation and reversed knitwear dangled from models walking the runway, merging with graphic silk scarves made into maxi dresses. An angelic personality defined additional womenswear looks, while others channeled Caribbean flair and elegant British silhouettes.
