Pharrell and Sarah Andelman's JOOPITER "Just Phriends" Auction Hits $3.85 Million USD in Sales
The top lots ranged between a George Condo painting, a Richard Mille watch and more.
JOOPITER has officially concluded its “Just Phriends” auction curated by Pharrell and Sarah Andelman. The preview was unveiled in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week, bringing friends and artists for a vibrant celebration of the collection. Guests who attended the opening day of the preview included Tyler, the Creator, Pusha T, Alexandre Arnault, Futura and more.
The curation saw works from Takashi Murakami, Daniel Arsham and more highlight the “Just Phriends” sale. The auction concluded with $3.85 million USD in sales, with 42% of the lots selling above their high estimate. JOOPITER, which is a global digital-first auction house and content platform founded by the multi-hyphenate Pharrell Williams, partnered with Sarah Andelman, colette founder and long-time friend of the artist. The auction saw a mix of rare artworks, culturally-provenant objects and exclusive interdisciplinary collaborations from fine art to high jewelry, design fashion and objects, all curated by Andelman herself.
The top lots included a George Condo painting titled, “Portrait of an English Lady” which was estimated to sell between $800,000 and $1,000,000 USD, sold for $1.05 million USD. A Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Winding Split-Seconds Chronograph watch sold for $481,250 USD, Javier Calleja‘s “Mood” sold for $287,500 USD, KAWS‘ “MTV Moonman” for $265,680 USD and Invader’s “Camo for Pharrell” for $145,200 USD. A portion of the proceeds from the sale have gone to advance Black Ambition’s work to continue to create spaces for Black and Latinx founder.
