COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT SS24 Immortalizes Warhol, Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali

Everybody needs at least one statement shirt in their wardrobe. Luckily, COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT has plenty for you to choose from, as evidenced by its recently-debuted Spring/Summer 2024 show that came as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Teaming with The Andy Warhol Foundation, CdG SHIRT produced button-ups of all shapes, styles, and proportions. For example, the House kicks off with a paneled example that explores Warhols’ use of color and features the artist’s iconic 1986 Self-Portrait, over-exposed in red. It’s followed by iterations depicting Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, and more, before moving towards other graphic essentials.
Here, we find Marilyn Monroe and her quote “Dogs don’t bite me. Just humans” adorning a classic gray sweater and boxy tote bag, and Warhol’s Self-Portrait once more on a zip-up hoodie, again featuring a quote from the seminal artist. Aside from the Warhol-isms, CdG SHIRT gives us a slice of Renaissance in the form of patchwork silk scarf-esque bucket hats, loose tailored jackets with seams that dart left, right, and center, panel stripe shirts complete with harness-equipped boleros (which later transform into hooded jacket add-ons), and an array of shorts and trousers to pair with your unavoidably-loud shirts.
