Ludovic de Saint Sernin Has Parted Ways With Ann Demeulemeester
After just one show.
According to Business of Fashion, Ludovic de Saint Sernin is parting ways with Ann Demeulemeester after just one season with the label.
Earlier this week, news broke out for Rhuigi Villaseñor’s unprecedented departure from Bally. Now, the fashion industry is struck with another unexpected exit from Ludovic de Saint Sernin, who will be stepping down as Ann Demeulemeester’s creative director.
Despite only launching his eponymous label in 2017, De Saint Sernin has built a young and powerful fanbase. Known for his sensual and binary-breaking vision, the designer also has a knack for crafting social-media-savvy narratives that resonates with the younger crowds.
The Paris-raised designer was appointed as Ann Demeulemeester’s creative director in late 2022. In March 2023, he debuted the first show for the Belgian label’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Paris Fashion Week. 36 look-collection served as a tribute to Ann Demeulemeester’s past archive looks, but reinterpreted and imbued with De Saint Sernin’s signature racy aesthetics.
At the time of writing, neither De Saint Sernin nor Ann Demeulemeester’s management has commented on the designer’s departure from the label.
