The NBA Playoffs have begun and with that a host of signature shoes for basketball players are set to launch while the sneaker space continues to see a constant flow of new looks hitting shelves each week. Heading into our third batch of drops for April, Nike, Jordan Brand, New Balance and adidas have readied some key releases to prepare for. However, let’s recap the last week of headlines to get you up to speed with the latest happenings in footwear.

Leading off, our latest installment in the Sole Mates series featured the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “MCA” — as selected by Cody Yunshen. The founder of SupBro outlined his love for Virgil Abloh’s work alongside his journey as an entrepreneur. Additional Swoosh-related news popped-up with rumors of NIGO signing a deal with Nike sparking much discussion. Results of the Nike Dunk Low “Virgil Abloh™ x Futura Laboratories” auction at Sotheby’s had a peak sale of over $100,000 USD while the Dunk Low Remastered surfaced in a new “Reverse Panda” look. Another rumor to hit the net involved the Air Foamposite One’s classic “Galaxy” colorway that is said to be returning in 2023.

The rumor mill continued to spin with the Jumpman team as the Air Jordan 1 Hi’ 85 “Metallic Red” and Air Jordan 17 Low are both expected to be returning in 2024. In other auction news, Michael Jordan’s signed Air Jordan 13s from the 1998 NBA Finals sold for a record $2.2 million USD while Nike shared that the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago Reimagined” would be restocking via SNKRS. Wrapping things up for Jordan Brand, first looks at the Air Jordan 5 “Burgundy,” Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG and Air Jordan 1 KO Low “Bred” all surfaced.

At the other end of the footwear space, adidas made plenty of noise in the last seven days with the launch of its Bad Bunny x adidas Campus Light “Wild Moss” at Coachella. In addition to this, we took a look back at all of the adidas YEEZYs ever released while the Three Stripes went ahead and revealed a Hello Kitty and Friends x adidas Forum Bonega. From there, detailed shots of the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle Indoor “Corduroy” and Pharrell x adidas Humanrace Samba “Lilac” also were shared.

Elsewhere in the industry, MSCHF’s Big Red Boot was reworked with a Timberland-esque finish courtesy of Danny Kabouni’s customization of a 3D-printed pair. Circling back to slip-on footwear, ASICS revisited its ACTIBREEZE 3D Slide with a fresh “Mako Blue” colorway. Completing this week’s headlines, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance unveiled two new 550s dressed in suede.

With all of the past week’s footwear news covered, let’s dive into what drops to look forward to this week. As always, slide by HBX to complete your footwear digest for the day by shopping styles that are up for grabs now.

PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Kwondo 1 “Panda”

Release Date: April 18
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Legendary Korean rapper G-Dragon has been admired as a style icon for over a decade. Launching PEACEMINUSONE in 2016, he’s ushered in his unique flair through the label, teaming up with brands such as Nike in the process. Elaborating on his collaborative Kwondo 1 silhouette with the Swoosh, he encourages fans to suit up with a “Panda” colorway joined by complementary apparel. Its tuxedo-esque finish is backed by color blocking across its leather upper while carrying thick lace shrouds with PEACEMINUSONE branding on the left shoe and Nike hits on the right.

Nike Ja 1 “Day One”

Release Date: April 19
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: It’s playoff season in the NBA and Ja Morant is celebrating his appearance in the postseason with the Memphis Grizzlies by officially launching his first signature shoe — the Nike Ja 1. While he deals with a gruesome hand injury and has availability concerns — the Ja 1 remains ready for action. Arriving in its colorful “Day One” presentation, it is the least expensive signature shoe available from the Swoosh.

Run the Boroughs x New Balance 576 MADE in UK

Release Date: April 20
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: The annual TCS London Marathon is just around the corner, meaning Run the Boroughs and New Balance are due for yet another collaboration. Celebrating the race once again, the New Balance MADE in UK team has offered up its 576 for a thematic look. A moss green color palette nods to London’s landscape while pigskin tongues display interchangeable patches with branding hits.

adidas Campus 80 “Crop”

Release Date: April 20
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Across recent years, adidas has tapped into cannabis culture with special sneaker launches for marijuana’s celebratory day of April 20. For 2023, the Campus 80 has been equipped with a tear-away upper that nods to the harvesting of cannabis with its brown layer revealing a plush green suede underneath. A milky white translucent sole unit supports the look while a tie-dye print appears at the sockliner while also poking out beneath the upper’s overlays.

Run the Jewels x Nike SB Dunk

Release Date: April 20
Release Price: $130 USD to $140 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Aside from being a day for stoners, April 20 is also Killer Mike’s birthday. The Run the Jewels rapper and his partner El-P have teamed up with Nike for a duo of SB Dunks that have been long-awaited by sneakerheads since surfacing last year. Its low-top sees a mixed material blue pop with pink Swooshes and golden branding. As for the SB Dunk High, hairy pink overlays pair with a black leather base and jeweled Swooshes for a one-of-a-kind look.

New Balance 576 MADE in UK “Pale Mauve” & “Monks Robe”

Release Date: April 20
Release Price: $230 USD
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: In case the mossy green Run the Boroughs collaboration doesn’t strike your fancy, the MADE in UK division at New Balance has prepared two other looks to consider. Each colorway arrives with suede overlays that rest atop a mesh base. The signature hue of both respective looks covers a majority of the sneaker with hits of white and gray backed by a black rubber outsole to create two sharp presentations of the trainer.

Nike Air Max 1 ‘86

Release Date: April 21
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: Dover Street Market
Why You Should Cop: First appearing during this year’s celebration of Air Max Day, the Big Bubble-flavored Air Max 1 ‘86 has brought sneakerheads back to the shoe’s origins. Featuring an enlarged Air unit at the midsole of each of these four pairs, the presentations carry a white mesh base and are joined by suede overlays in their respective color arrangements. Launching first via DSM, the pairs are rumored to carry the special numbering out of 1986 that was spotted prior to Nike’s official reveal.

Blondey McCoy x adidas Gazelle Indoor “Gemini”

Release Date: April 21
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: THAMES MMXX
Why You Should Cop: First teased as a soccer cleat, the “Gemini” colorway of Blondey McCoy’s adidas Gazelle Indoor appears with a fresh layer of paint across its details. Utilizing the same ripstop base from the previous two iterations, black overlays are joined by a forest green at the Three Stripes, gold at the lateral’s “BLONDEY” text and white throughout the rest of the shoe. The British skater has shared that this is the final colorway of the model, making it the last opportunity to grab a pair firsthand.

Air Jordan 13 “Black Flint”

Release Date: April 22
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Throughout recent years, the Air Jordan 13 has steadily contributed to Jordan Brand’s lineup of offerings, mixing the old with the new as it retros colorways and takes on fresh ones. Harkening back to 1998’s “Flint Grey” with some subtle adjustments, this look exudes modesty across its black, grey and white arrangement. 3M mesh combines with supple suede to supply fans of the sneaker with a versatile display.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Washed Pink”

Release Date: April 22
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Rounding out this week’s lineup, a women’s-exclusive “Washed Pink” version of the Air Jordan 1 High OG serves as a precursor to this summer’s “Washed Black” colorway. The more colorful of the two, “Washed Pink” offers pastel hues across its presentation. First, a white leather covers the base while cream hits the collar, resting beneath the suede pink overlays and Swooshes. An off-white midsole matches the tongue while a pink rubber outsole pops as a final point of support.
