Take a Look at the Moomin x adidas Originals Collaboration
An ode to Tove Jansson’s iconic Finnish comic strip character.
As an homage to one of the most iconic comic strip characters, adidas has launched its latest collaborative efforts with Tove Jansson’s Moomin character. For decades, the group of hippopotamus-like characters has been a fond and nostalgic memory for most. Now, it has jumped from picture books and made its way onto several pairs of adidas Originals footwear.
The collaboration sees the adventure-seeking character arrive on the adidas Stan Smith and adidas Nizza High. The outlines of the character are highlighted on top of the cream canvas base upper. The Stan Smith features the character on the tongue, while it sits atop a cork midsole with brown accents, while the Nizza High features an abundance of characters drawn all-over the shoe in jet-black ink sitting atop a platform outsole.
As for the adidas Hyperturf Adventure, the design mostly mimics that of an outdoor scene. It features a color scheme of olive and brown, all while including Moominvalley-inspired nature motifs that come with removable charms. The Cork Adilette Slide sees a playful image of the Moomin traveling with backpacks, sitting atop a sky blue and lime green strap that mimics the sky and grass.
The collection is currently available overseas in Japan. Take a look at the collaboration above to hold you over until it releases stateside at select retailers and on adidas.
In other footwear news, the New Balance 610 arrives in “Beef and Broccoli” colorway.
