Nanushka FW23 Was a "Shape Shifting" Affair
Delivering transformational attire that doubled as something new for the brand.
Budapest-based label Nanushka has become synonymous with understated luxury. Season after season, founder and Creative Director Sandra Sandor has continued to build her brand on refined silhouettes with utilitarian motifs while welcoming sustainability in its purest form and pushing Nanushka’s clean-cut aesthetic to new dimensions.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Nanushka paid tribute to its Hungarian heritage, while Fall/Winter 2023 sees the brand experiment with refreshed silhouettes and juggle contemporary interpretations of Hungarian ornate symbols as decorative finery.
Titled “Shape Shifting,” the collection kept elegant form-fitting attire at the forefront, utilizing the brand’s recognizable leather trimmings that hopped from look to look. Collarless sherpa jackets were lined with leather and deemed reversible, matched with coordinating button-ups and pleated trousers, while fringed bodycon dresses swung back and forth in motion. Creamy motorcycle jackets were fashioned with zippered detailing, which melted into wrap-around skirting layered atop folded bottoms. In addition, sustainable leather dresses boasted detachable sections that turned from maxi to mini, working alongside crotchet ensembles and croppable shirting stamped with Hungarian symbolism.
