Lionel Messi Gifts World Cup-Winning Argentina Team 35 Gold iPhones
Featuring custom inscriptions of each player’s name and number.
After he was rewarded with the Best FIFA Men’s Player award this week, Lionel Messi now delivers a heartfelt gift for his fellow players and staff on the FIFA World Cup-winning Argentina football team, which beat France in a thrilling finals match ultimately decided on penalties. Messi reportedly splurged over 200,000 USD on 35 24-carat gold iPhone 14 Pros purchased from iDesign Gold which were delivered to Barcelona.
Each phone is personalized, featuring each player’s name and number, the Argentina national football team emblem, and “World Cup Champions 2022” text.
“He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches so I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea,” iDesign Gold CEO Ben told The Sun.
The World Cup victory in Qatar was the first time Argentina has won since 1986, and thus also a first for Messi who was awarded the Golden Ball for his performance, adding yet another crown jewel to his GOAT-status career which includes a record-breaking seven Ballon d’Or awards and six European Golden Shoes.
