After introducing a duo of Nike Air Max 1s last year, South Korean imprint Kasina now reconnects with adidas for a pair of Campus 80s celebrating the acclaimed comic artist Kim Jung Gi who passed away suddenly last October.

Serving as a mentor and source of inspiration to countless illustrators around the world, Kim is known for his intricate pen and ink works drawn in live sessions in which his near-photographic memory and vivid imagination are put on full display as he crafts incredibly intricate pieces entirely from his mind without any visual reference.

Arriving as part of the adidas Consortium series, the upcoming pairs are found with a yellow suede base, black lateral stripes, and white leather finishing along the tongue and heel. Illustrations on the right and left shoes come mismatched with the left shoe displaying a Korean tiger spitting out a jumble of skulls and the right shoe showing a little girl grabbing at the tiger’s tail. Heel tabs feature mismatched sketched logos and two sets of insoles feature additional illustrations of the characters interacting with the adidas logo and shoebox.

The Kasina x Kim Jung Gi x adidas Campus 80 is now available via select international retailers and is set to hit adidas on March 10 for $130 USD. More on the life and legacy of Kim Jung Gi can be found here.
