Lucasfilm has cancelled the Star Wars films initially helmed by Patty Jenkins and Kevin Feige.

According to sources, both features are “no longer in active development” over at Lucasfilm, although a reason for the films’ cancellations were not revealed. Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron was initially delayed in late in November 2021 but by December 2022, the movie was removed from Disney‘s December 2023 release schedule. The Wonder Woman filmmaker took to Twitter to clear the air and explained that she actually left the Rogue Squadron project “after a long and productive development process,” and was asked by Lucasfilm to return after Wonder Woman 3. “They made a new deal with me. In fact, I am still on it and that project has been in active development ever since. I don’t know if it will happen or not,” she continued.

Meanwhile, news of Feige’s feature was first revealed in September 2019 but did not receive any big updates until May 2022, when Michael Waldron of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shared that he’d begun work on a Star Wars screenplay for the Marvel Studios President. “I’m enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that’s not necessarily a sequel or anything,” the screenwriter said.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Jason Sudeikis suggested that Ted Lasso could end with season three.
