Step Into Chateau Orlando SS23's Garden in Bloom
Luke Edward Hall’s emerging brand presents “Narcissus at the Fountain,” a collection designed as an ode to British gardens.
Welcome to the world of Luke Edward Hall; an effervescent slice of joy that comes into fruition in the artist’s emerging clothing brand, Chateau Orlando.
For its fourth collection — Spring/Summer 2023‘s “Narcissus at the Fountain” — Hall draws inspiration from the beauty of English gardens and the traditions that permeate their surroundings. From here, influences taken from the paintings of Patrick Procktor, depicting hazy gardens coming into bloom, come into spring across the collection alongside daffodils influenced by those that crop in Hall’s own garden.
Parasol stripes, fountains, potting urns and flowers come together in a field of color across the SS23 range, taking form on co-ord sets, crew neck jumpers, sweater vest, polo shirts, sweaters, T-shirts, and cropped jackets — all of which paint an aesthetic informed by Great British summers from yesteryears.
The coordinating sets are of particular intrigue this season, as one ensemble perfectly captures the spirit of Chateau Orlando — dress up in this and you’re set for an Oxbridge punting lesson or a day frolicking in Kew Gardens. However, if you’d rather tone it down, the label has logo-bearing tops and vests, or ones printed in bricks, for something that can mix and match with the brand’s former collections.
Speaking on “Narcissus at the Fountain,” Hall said: “I found inspiration for our Spring/Summer 2023 collection in Patrick Procktor… and Forrest Reid’s 1905 book, The Garden God. Our color palette is a tender, earthy one: peaches, apricots and tangerines sit alongside soft greens and dusty off-whites.”
