Sliding into our second week of March, sneaker brands have ensured that there’s plenty to look forward to. Key launches this week come from Nike, New Balance and adidas as much-anticipated collaborative projects finally land on shelves. However, before we dive into things, let’s recap what news has popped up since our last breakdown.

The latest edition of Sole Mates featured Breanna Stewart and her PUMA Stewie 1 in its “Four Time” colorway, nodding to her back-to-back-to-back-to-back national titles. She dove deeper into her first signature shoe’s design, her sneaker journey and more as well. Another recurring series – best footwear trends – took on Paris Fashion Week to wrap up fashion month. Rounding out our feature coverage, we also took a look at the best running shoes on the market currently.

Looking at the Swoosh in particular, it made noise with its official reveal of this year’s Air Max Day model – the Air Max Pulse. It also saw its Supreme x Nike SB Dunk “Rammellzee” collection teased via early pairs in low-top and high-top form. News regarding the SB Dunk Low continued with rumors of an April Skateboards pair and a first look at Yuto Horigome’s own colorway. Lastly, Nigel Sylvester showed off his collaborative “BIKE AIR” take on the Air Ship.

As for its Jordan Brand subsidiary, Nike SB shared the intricate differences in its take on the Air Jordan 4. However, it was the Air Jordan 1 that dominated headlines for the Jumpman with first looks at a high-top “Palomino” and low-top “Black Toe” and “Atmosphere Grey” pairs. An on-foot breakdown of the AJ1 Retro High OG “UNC Toe” also surfaced.

On the other end of the footwear universe, adidas’ CEO spoke to the YEEZY inventory dilemma as the brand continues to figure out what to do with its surplus while an unreleased YEEZY 500 with a gum sole popped up, adding to the list of would-have-been-released pairs. Offspring was later crowned the first Consortium Cup champion with its Raf Simons-inspired hybrid model. Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 line entered the mix as it surprise dropped its new modular ITOGO silhouette.

Other headlines included a one-of-one pair of boots for Mario designed by Red Wing Shoes to celebrate Mario Day. For more wacky sneakers, Balenciaga’s 3XL Trainer Mule surfaced in a worn-in silver. Completing our recap, collaborations between NOAH and PUMA on the Clyde Sneaker and SNEEZE Magazine and Reebok on the Club C Grounds were revealed.

Now that you’re all caught up with what’s going on in footwear, check out the top ten drops of the week below. Once you’ve had the chance to review what’s to come, be sure to stop by HBX to shop styles that are available for purchase immediately.

The puffer jacket-inspired sneaker has popped up in a myriad of colorways that effortlessly swap from one color to the next. Both the “Cloud White” and “Crew Yellow” looks dropping this week feature their primary color at the midfoot and toe with black detailing balancing the presentation at its heel. Why You Should Cop: After returning last year, the Air Max Penny 1 has enjoyed a constant flow of new colorways from Nike. These elements operate across a mixed material anatomy that brings leather, suede and mesh to the Air Max Penny 1.

solebox x adidas Ultra 4D

Release Date: March 17
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: solebox
Why You Should Cop: When the UltraBOOST first hit the scene, it played a key role in propelling adidas back into the mix. Backing this movement, the brand’s Consortium series brought forth collaborations that are highly sought-after to this day, one of which being solebox’s UltraBOOST Uncaged. Now, the duo is revisiting the taupe colorway from 2016 with clean presentations of the UltraBOOST 1.0 and Ultra 4D. The latter hits shelves first with a full-length 4D midsole in off-white that features a glow-in-the-dark outsole that offers a blend of the latest technology and modern styling.

For many, the Nike SB logo at the heel is what sets this clean white and green colorway apart from the rest.

Kim Jung Gi x Kasina x adidas Campus

Why You Should Cop: In remembrance of the late artist Kim Jung Gi, Kasina has teamed up with adidas to outfit the Campus in a striking yellow, black and white colorway that prominently displays the Korean illustrator’s artwork. Additional artwork appears at the special heel branding, custom box and unique sockliners, offering proper final touches to commemorate Kim Jung Gi’s legacy.

A sea of “Baltic Blue” at the upper is joined by hits of light brown at the Swooshes and tongue tag while black Nike Air branding has been embroidered at the heel. Backing the look, the silhouette’s signature midsole arrives in white with its visible Air unit spotlighted above the black rubber outsole.

Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: The Jumpman logo has appeared countless times in its decades of use and it all traces back to Michael Jordan soaring across an outdoor court with Chicago’s sunset as a backdrop. Pulling from this, the pink and purple hits that once lit up the sky have been recreated across the sneaker’s denim overlays. By utilizing white and black to balance the color composition, keeping things from getting too bold, a striking yet stylish look has been assembled to commemorate the iconic moment that will live on forever in its logo form.
